Chryso introduces new admixture range

Chryso, the flagship brand of Saint-Gobain Chimie de la Construction, presents EnviroMix C-Clay, a new innovative range of admixtures aimed at reducing the CO 2 content of concrete through the use of calcined clay-based cements.
This new offer of sustainable solutions expands the EnviroMix range of admixtures, intended for low-carbon concrete.
Calcined clay cements, recognized for their potential to generate significantly lower carbon emissions than traditional Portland cement, are today a promising alternative in the development of sustainable construction materials. New cements tested in our international research centre such as CEM VI (35 to 49% of the clinker content ) and CEM II/CM (50 to 64% of the clinker content - LC3) can contribute to a reduction of CO2 emissions of up to 50%* compared to a “conventional” Portland cement , thanks to the incorporation of calcined clays.
In addition to its recognised expertise in the field of cement, the Chryso R&D team has worked on the characterization of more than 30 calcined clays, from all over the world, using internal and patented methodologies, such as CHRYSO Clear test, in order to determine the optimal formulation of EnviroMix C-Clay for each mix-design.
Chryso experts develop a specific range of innovative admixtures, designed to improve the performance and adapted to the versatility of calcined clay cements. These innovations are the subject of new patents. These admixtures, developed after years of research and development, meet the technical challenges related to the use of calcined clay, mainly due to its high water demand, improving both the workability of the concrete and its compressive strength.
“Our mission is to provide the construction industry with innovative solutions that not only meet today’s demands, but also pave the way for a more sustainable future,” says Gustavo Blázquez, Director of the Concrete Business Unit. “ With our innovative admixture solutions, we aim to overcome the technical challenges associated with low-carbon concrete, leveraging the potential of calcined clay cements and accelerating the transition to more sustainable construction practices .”
In addition to offering cutting-edge adjuvant solutions, Chryso is committed to providing technical support and expertise to facilitate the integration and optimisation of its products, meeting technical specifications and adapted to local materials.
